Doors and Archways

So, after I finished with one of the books, I switched to one about the same size without lines or a spiral bound and one that was bigger without lines or spiral bound. People started to worry about the first journal. It was spiral bound and barely shutting. People were worried that it would explode and everything would go everywhere or I'd lose pieces. But I took very good care of it. I think there's barely a page that has problems with the spiral.
As I've been working through my art therapy classes, another few themes have emerged-- the doors and archways. I've also been working on some Buddhas before the final Buddha painting for my brother.

In March sometime.

Represents my inner demons such as my abuse and anger.

Note Tree symbolism, also a book case.
The portal represents the inner demons that I worry will leak out in my professional life.

I got tired of the stupid inner demon portal so, I changed it. The picture is actually a close up of a spider but it has an angelic quality to it.

This is me walking into the portal. I'm light and emit light and change the landscape of the land of the demons.

This is my first attempt at the Buddha in late June/early July

I like this Buddha much better. This was made yesterday, July 27, 2009.

More from the Journal

This was one of the prints that sold. It says, "I left. I got a haircut. I switched these shoes for the these because of the winter. Happiness is now attainable (fortune from the fortune cookie)." I like the dynamic between the woman as she's clearly packed and her indifferent boyfriend on the couch. Sometimes I'd like to imagine he tried to stop her after he really understood that she was leaving.

This is the beginning of the identified coping skills-- how I dealt with things. I'm beginning to notice my use of doors and arches. I just noticed the archway of flowers.

Another theme is trees. This is the first noted picture of trees.
