My Piece Sold!

Today, someone bought a print of this. It was a gift for someone who was retiring from a position at a substance abuse program-- maybe a director or therapist. Some substance abusers also have been sexually abused. The piece had to be taken down right away so that she had it in time for the retirement party that night. Seeing as the show ends Sunday, I think it's ok to just have the other two up for now.
I'm really glad that someone bought such an emotionally charged piece. I almost didn't put it up. But I thought it was a little daring.
Before I put it up, I had asked myself, "Is this what I want a random stranger knowing about me?" And I felt comfortable with that. I figure that if someone would talk to me about it, it would be about how they could relate to it. And if not, I was prepared.
This and two other previously posted piece ("Going through the much is part of the journey" and "I left...") were in a gallery for two weeks. There is a big party on Sunday for those who had their pieces up. The gallery is open to anyone; people are able to put up any piece(s) that they have. They can use the walls or the floor. There are some great pieces by the people in the community. Last year, I met an awesome art therapist from Massachusetts.
I'm very excited about this new development. I knew someone would connect with it.

That's great news! Congratulations! I'm glad you were daring, I am sure it will all help in your head. =)
